Greenwood Education Foundation
We have created this scholarship to honor Coach Bob Whitson, a man who has always been far more than just a coach. To his wrestlers, football players and countless others, he was a mentor, a teacher and a role model. Coach Whitson pushed each of us in our high school years to give our very best effort, not just on the mat or the field, but in every aspect of life- a lesson he continues to this day!
What has always made his influence so powerful and truly special, is that he often doesn't realize the depth of the lessons he is teaching. Through his high expectations, constant encouragement and personal example, he taught us what it means to live with character, work hard and treat others with respect. His impact is carried on over the years through the many former athletes and students who still consider him family.
This scholarship is our way of carrying forward his legacy and honoring the values he instilled in all of us. This will be awarded to Greenwood High School Senior Wrestlers, who are planning to attend an Indiana college or university.
